When Figtree's Louise Howard and Rod Brown bit the bullet and set a wedding date only two months away, they didn't realise the challenge that lay ahead.

"We gave ourselves eight weeks so it was timed around the same date we met," Louise said.

Planning a wedding for 60 people in two months proved no easy feat.

"It seemed like every day I was in town arranging for this or for that and the time just flew," Louise said.

The couple were married at the Mt Keira Scout Camp with Louise's six-year-old son Matthew as page boy.

By the time the date arrived, the express-wedding bride was living on nerve ends.

"I was 40 minutes late getting to the wedding and just lost it in the limo and started crying and struggling for breath," Louise recalled.

"When we arrived at the wedding our celebrant Barbara Dent saw what was happening and took me aside and talked me through the attack."

Looking back, Louise said her bridesmaid Toni O'Brien-Fulcher proved a lifesaver.

"I met Rod through Toni and she was the one who got things moving on the wedding date because we were both dithering," Louise said. "Throughout the preparations she was a godsend to have at my side."

Louise said they proved planning a wedding in eight weeks could be done "but I wouldn't recommend it".
