BRIDES-TO-BE are expected to fill their wedding planners with all the information needed to organise their big day at tomorrow's Illawarra Mercury Bridal Expo.
The expo promises to turn the most stressed out bridezilla into a picture of prenuptial calm, with more than 100 exhibitors showcasing everything from cakes and jewellery to cars and wedding dresses.Paul Farrugia and Sharnna Churchill, from Albion Park, will be amongst the thousands of attendees expected tomorrow. The recently engaged couple are in the early stages of planning their wedding for the end of next year. "I just want to have a look at everything that is going to be there," Miss Churchill said. "The thing I don't want to miss is the fashion parade. I'm really looking forward to that."Despite being reluctant to attend the expo at first, Mr Farrugia said he was interested in looking at reception venues. Models rehearsed yesterday for the fashion parades which will showcase the latest trends in bridal wear. Elsewhere, the 21 finalists in the expo's Bride of the Year competition were getting ready to don their wedding gowns once again.Entrants will be judged on the overall look and presentation of their bridal attire.Contestant Jennifer MacRae, who was married in Wollongong in April, said she was nervous but excited about putting her gown back on and taking part in the competition. "I'm definitely looking forward to it," she said."Without the competition I would never get to wear my dress again and it would just be sitting there with me looking at it." Event organiser Lauren Bennett said the Expo had been running for about 20 years and was the largest and most highly awaited annual bridal expo in the Illawarra.Couples will also have the chance to win an Ultimate Wedding Prize Package valued at over $30,000.INSIDE TODAY:32-page guide to the Illawarra Mercury Bridal Expo 2008
